Built in 1775 to the design of prominent architect Thomas Cooley and is one of the churches in the Diocese of Armagh built by Archbishop Richard Robinson.

As the seat of both Catholic and Anglican Archbishops, Amargh is still the Ecclesiastical Capital of Ireland, the Anglican medieval church has been sympathetically restored over centuries and celebrates its connection with St Patrick.

Consecrated 1776 on land gifted by Sir Capel Molyneux and financced by Archbishop Richard Robinson.

The story goes that St Wyllow, a Christian hermit, was living nearby in 596, legend has it that he was killed beheaded but that he brought the head here, thus deciding where the church should be built.

Our church, a fine Grade I listed building dating from the 14th century, contains 33 late medieval bench ends, including one depicting a dog preaching to a pig!
