Since its opening in 1858 the Cathedral has served a diocese covering the counties of Cornwall, Devon and Dorset and provides a welcome to all.

The building stands within an extensive, peaceful churchyard and forms the heart of the village of Newton Ferrers on the banks of the River Yealm in South Devon on the South Devon Coastal Path and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Of significant importance to the history of Plymouth, as one of the oldest churches in the city.

The church (Gothic Revival) was the first commission by acclaimed Irish Architect William Joseph Barre (a native of Newry), it is a building of Newry Granite and a wonderful testimony to Barre.

Newry Cathedral is the most commanding building in Newry and is undoubtedly the most important work executed by Newry’s greatest native architect, Thomas Duff.

The building was a former Temperance Institute.

A church was founded in 1225 on the west bank of the River Leven and rebuilt in the village in 1640.

Built in 1795 this Weslyan Chapel is now Grade II listed. It has had a long and useful life, providing a school in the early 1900's for Torpoint's children.

The church has been dated to the 15th century, with the nave and chancel possibly of an earlier date.

This ancient church has many unusual features. Perhaps most intriguing is the rare, 11th century conical tower.

A small chapel dedicated to the unusual St Hulanus or Ulette, which was probably built before the medieval castle and constructed on top of the ruins of the Dark Age settlement.
