Small Victorian village church.

St Mary's dating from 1190, has a fine Norman chancel arch as well as good Victorian stained glass and a carved altar and font cover from the early 20th century.

A Chapel of Ease built in 1786 which has a wonderful window commemorating the work people who died while the Catcleugh dam was built from 1894-1905.

The place name St Levan comes from Selevan or Salamon, the original patron saint of the church, chapel and holy well here. Salamon is recorded as a 10th century Cornish dedication and may be the Breton king assassinated in 874AD.

Dating from 1849, the building was extended and reconfigured in 1909 to a design by St John Phillips.

The church in the town square, built in 1840 on the site of a 12th century abbey, is open every day for prayer and reflection.

The church (Gothic Revival) was the first commission by acclaimed Irish Architect William Joseph Barre (a native of Newry), it is a building of Newry Granite and a wonderful testimony to Barre.

Newry Cathedral is the most commanding building in Newry and is undoubtedly the most important work executed by Newry’s greatest native architect, Thomas Duff.

St Patrick’s is situated at the gateway to the Ards Peninsula in Newtownards and built in 1877 by Lady Londonderry.

Although there was an important Saxon church here, the present building dates mainly from the 1130s.
