A unique, detached double height Italianate Presbyterian Church, built around 1830 and extensively renovated around 1900.

This small and compact church is full of character and interest.

St Augustine is the only one of Hedon's three medieval churches to survive, the oldest part dating from 1190.

By the renowned 'rogue' architect EB Lamb in 1851 and described by Pevsner as ‘a veritable riot of forms, perverse and mischievous’, with interesting monuments and stained glass and standing in a tranquil setting in open countryside.

The church has a history which goes back over 900 years and there is a suggestion that it occupies a burial mound from the pre Christian era. This is a holy place where generations of worshippers have felt drawn to God.

St Peter’s is a simple, but beautiful building at least 900 years old! It has the great attraction of being a quiet village church in the countryside although it is so close to Hull.
