St Laurence’s is probably the oldest building in Chorley and like most ancient parish churches in England has played a central role in the history of its local community.

Replacing an earlier Independent chapel dating from 1826, the present church building was erected in 1899.

St Wilfrid's church, is a wonderful example of the work of Temple Moore and his son in law, Leslie Moore which stands proud in the centre of town.

We are a small rural parish church which prides itself on its friendly welcome.

In mid Victorian days, interest in health and in travel coincided with the building of Harrogate around its new Spa, Mary Anne Fielde donated her house to be the Vicarage, and her garden for a church and a school to be built.
