St Piran’s is the parish church of Perranzabuloe was situated just outside the village of Perranporth following the demise of the previous church which succumbed to the encroachment of sand.

The church was founded in the 12th century and retains some of the Norman stonework. The south chapel of Our Lady contains the 15th century tomb of Sir Ralph Grey and his wife Elizabeth.

Our many holiday visitors comment on this peaceful, beautiful little church, a place for quiet prayer and contemplation.

Known as 'the Ancient Church by the Sea' the parish church of Gerrans is the dominant feature of the local landscape, standing on the brow of a hill overlooking the sea.

The tiny village is home to an historic Quaker meeting house, a cob and straw thatch building dating from 1710 and containing glass dating from 1640.

The current church building dates from the 13th century. It was consecrated by Bishop Walter Bronescombe on the 14th August 1261.

A church was founded on this site in 635 by St Aidan; the site of his death is marked by a shrine within the present church which dates from the end of the 12th century.
