St Nicholas is an exceptionally interesting building dating back to the twelfth century, with visible interventions from every succeeding century, including some high quality early 20th century work; the building is a tangible link to the rural past of an area which has been subsumed into London.

The present St Mary’s was opened in 1895, but a medieval stone and tile in the porch are clues to the parish’s much longer story.

The present church was built in 1857 to 58 and only a single buttress and short stretch of wall are left from its medieval predecessor (some fifty or so yards to the southwest).

Mitcham Methodist Church was designed by the architect Edward Mills (1915–1998) and built in 1958-9.

This 1968 octagonal church with beautiful interior; the dome is supported on seven spans of dalles de verre glazing that create a magnificent sense of light filled space.

The church tower is visible for miles around, and is in the 'Levels' style. The figures around the church roof are either gargoyles (water spouts) or Hunky Punks, a local name for grotesque carvings which are not gargoyles.

The church tower is a landmark for a long way around, and was rebuilt in 1861 to the original medieval designs, but in blue lias stone, rather than the Ham stone from which the rest of the church is built.

A beautiful 15th century church set in a peaceful, pretty village.

The large cruciform Grade I church has an 18th century tower.

An evocative setting, in front of Muchelney Abbey and opposite the medieval Priest’s House, internally, the unique ceiling was painted in the 1600s with angels in Tudor costumes.
