It is clear from the first glimpse that this is a church out of the ordinary.

Although The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) built a Meeting House in Darlington in 1678 (when they bought the plot for ’35), the present structure was not completed until about 1846.

The mines are gone but the church still stand proudly on the hillside and welcoming everyone who wishes to enter.
