Find a church

Like Barfreston, only a few miles to the south east, Patrixbourne has an important Norman church.

There are two distinct reasons for coming here. The rare medieval wooden effigies and the association with the great nonconformist missionary William Carey (1761–1834).

Welcoming, relaxed church with activities for all ages, built about 1840 of brick with stone dressings in the style of the end of the 13th century.

We warmly welcome visitors at Rye Lane Baptist Chapel; it is a Grade II listed building which boasts historical features in a fine Victorian nonconformist building.

A lovely building in rural Leicestershire dating from the early to mid 14th century but with some earlier as well as later features.

A very peaceful, minimalist building with clever use of glazing in the roof to produce beautiful light on a fine day.
