Handsome neo Gothic church of 1914-15 with original furnishings, 18th century font and outstanding stained glass by Lawrence Lee and Nathaniel Westlake, visitors welcome.

A simple building of quiet dignity built with local sandstone with a Welsh slate roof.

Cymmer Abbey was founded in 1198 by monks from Cwm-hir under the patronage of the local ruler Maredud ap Cynan and his powerful cousin Llywelyn ab Iorwerth, Llywelyn the Great, prince of north Wales.

The church did have substantial Saxon elements until 1866 and some of the Saxon and later work can still be seen inside, it is the features inside which draw visitors to the church.

Like Oare, the church is built in neo Romanesque style, this time by Ferrey in 1844.

The church is set back from the road amongst trees.

Following an arson attack in 2015, this beautiful church, designed by William Burgess, has been restored and is now open to visitors and for services.

Situated just inside the Brecon Beacons National Park, it enjoys views across the Usk valley and is on a well used walking route.
