Situated in the centre of Meltham and was consecrated on St Bartholomew’s day 1651 by Bishop Henry Tilson a former Bishop of Elphin in Ireland, the church is believed to be one of a very few in England to be consecrated during the Commonwealth period.

St Hugh's is a building designed by one of the leading church architects of the Victorian period, John Loughborough Pearson.

Mexborough parish church is very ancient in origin. Documents show that a church was on this site shortly after the Norman Conquest in 1066.

St Peter & St Paul is Grade I listed and a wonderful example of Georgian architecture with a beautiful reredos behind the altar, the modern octagonal lantern was designed by Louis Osman who also designed the coronet for the Prince of Wales.

St Laurence’s is probably the oldest building in Chorley and like most ancient parish churches in England has played a central role in the history of its local community.

The antiquarian sixth Baron Monson visited this church in September 1828 and found two Monson monuments within this 'very neat, small edifice'.

The parish church of Reepham, originally spelt Refaim or Refam, is dedicated to St Peter & St Paul and was first mentioned by Bishop Grosseteste in the 11th century.

Unlike the quiet side street you will tread to visit the church today, way back in the 12th century the wharf was just below the church was a busy inland port, with sailors and merchants busily going about their business.

Described as the oldest building in South Yorkshire, the church has a lovely ‘across the centuries’ feel.

Austerfield is perhaps best known by its connections with the Pilgrim Fathers.
