St Peter’s is mentioned in the Domesday Survey in 1086, suggesting that there was a church on this site then.

Built in 1762-3 by J Warner of Caistor using medieval masonry, externally it is plain, pedestrian, but very pleasant.

In 1334 John de Harrington founded a chantry in this place, whereby the chaplain and his assistant were enabled to support themselves and pray daily for the souls of their founder and his family.
