A country gem from a gentler era.

This ‘hidden gem’ is the earliest known surviving example of a small English parish church designed by ‘God’s Architect’ Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin.

The original parish church of Brampton lies within the site of a Roman fort about a mile west of the centre of the town.

Fearsome gargoyles and medieval carvings.

Arguably the oldest and most significant building in Keynsham, this Grade II* listed building is the largest venue in town and used for civic events, school celebrations, and the rich pattern of worship in this special building.

St Mary's dating from 1190, has a fine Norman chancel arch as well as good Victorian stained glass and a carved altar and font cover from the early 20th century.

St Thomas a Becket church is mentioned in the Domesday Book and dates from the 12th century which leads many to believe that the church was probably redecated to Thomas a Beckett at a later date.

Situated by the Avon, the church has a Norman tower but the rest is by TH Wyatt in 1851.

Although there was an important Saxon church here, the present building dates mainly from the 1130s.

St Leonard’s is a beautiful church in a beautiful place, standing high and proud above the town of Hythe, looking towards the coast of France, which can be easily seen on a clear day.

Like so many Romney Marsh churches this one seems far bigger than any population at any time could have justified, but in medieval times this was a rich and very busy landscape, filled with people who needed a place to worship.
