We are pleased to welcome you to this Grade II listed chapel only five minutes walk from the site of the Ironage Hillfort on Wincobank Hill.

This huge 19th century chapel was once the most popular place of worship in what was to become the city of Stoke on Trent, a federation of the six towns of the Potteries.

The chapel’s first minister appointed in 1695 rejoiced in the name of Accepted Lister.

 The first records of the church indicate it was rebuilt some time after 1066 by the Lord of the Manor, William Paganel, who gave it, with other possessions of his, to Drax Priory in the time of Archbishop Thurstan (1119–1140).
