People have been worshipping in this beautiful place for over a thousand years, the church dates back to the 13th century and there is a real feeling of tranquillity and spirituality here standing on the bank of the River Stour.

A surprisingly bright and spacious church, All Saints was built in 1856 and having from a fire in 1940, was rededicated in the 1952.

St Kentigern, also called St Mungo, has been linked to Mungrisdale since about 550 AD and the present church, rebuilt in 1756, probably replaced one on the site of one of St Kentigern's original crosses.

Built in 1848 to replace the earlier medieval church, St James’ with its gothic appearance complete with sandstone dressings, is Grade II* listed and one of the earliest works of John Loughborough Pearson, the architect of Truro Cathedral.

This beautiful 12th century church, with 14th century spire, stands high above the River Tees.

Whilst it is probable that a wooden Saxon church existed on the site of the present church, we can say for certain that in the 11th and 12th centuries there was a Norman church, built of clunch and rubble intermixed with Roman tiles.

The Fell church is simple in design and plain in ornament, its charm lies in its setting and glimpse into the past.

1811 Independent Chapel, built to replace an earlier Meeting House for a congregation founded in 1665 with fine Victorian interior including pews, pulpit and screen.
