John Betjeman described this as 'the best church in Wilts'.

Situated at the east end of the High Street, the church is Grade I.

The tale of St Andrew's church began in the last decade of the 19th century when Cardiff was a town growing around the docks which were built by the Marquises of Bute.

The interior is a treasure house of Morris glass designed by a variety of preRaphaelite artists, Powell mosaics and some fine 20th century glass by Christopher Whall, Karl Parsons and Douglas Strachan.

The first thing you notice as you arrive at Christ Church is its garden setting surrounded by trees, an ideal setting for the summer fayres and and church picnics.

This church is the best example in the county of correct Ecclesiological Gothic of the English Decorated style, it also has the finest collection of stained glass.

A fine example of a small rural Victorian church within a thriving community.

St Edward’s church, a thriving centre of worship for over 100 years, is home to St Edward’s Music and Arts Centre.

Legend has it that Illtyd used to retreat to this spot during Lent.

The remains of the Abbey of St Mary lie in the centre of St Dogmaels immediately south of the parish church, which itself lies to the south of the High Street.

There was a chapel here ‘the Chapel of Raht’ soon after 1100, founded by the Norman Lord Robert Fitzhamon, as a Chapel of Ease to his priory church of St Mary in Cardiff.

Our church is in the centre of the village and listed for its historic, architectural and topographical importance.
