St Kentigern built his church here in 560, later leaving it to St Asaph.

Great Budworth is a very pretty village with houses of many ages and kinds, and at its heart sits St Mary's, a lovely red sandstone church dating mainly from the 15th and 16th centuries, though the Lady Chapel dates back to the 14th century.

An excellent example of a traditional church from the 14th century.

All Saints was built between 1350 and 1419 by Thomas Babington (one of whose family members was later executed for plotting against Elizabeth I), although there has been a church in the village since at least 1086.

The earliest church in Bakewell dates from Anglo Saxon times, but there were probably Christians here long before then, very likely they were among the Roman settlers from the 2nd century onwards.

We are sited at the top of the hill in Huthwaite and have a beautiful building that is over 120 years old.

The church is set back from the road and is surrounded by mature yew trees (one of which is more than 2,000 years old), with only the spire visible above them.
