Christ Church is a grade II* listed church, built in 1851 to a design by George Gilbert Scott.

St Mary's is one of the Church of England's most historic parishes, today we're a church of different people, a community of all ages, living out our calling.

A Victorian country church completed in 1856, built in Bath stone in the English Gothic style and set in the centre o the village, this was the first church to be designed by the architect Frederick Bodley, a student of Sir George Gilbert Scott.

The parish was founded in 1865 in a densely packed slum district, the architect was George Edmund Street, a member of the Margaret Street congregation, and then at the height of his powers.

A church was first established on this site in the aftermath of the Dissolution of the Monasteries when Cartmel Priory was dissolved as part of the Henrician Reformation and a chapel was built on the present site using materials from Cartmel around 1537.

Designed by H and HW Inwood in a Gothic style, famously criticised by Pugin, and built between 1824 and 1827.

St Brandon's is stunning: it's over 900 years old but recently and beautifully restored after a fire in 1998.

Lambourn's large and imposing church dates from about 1180, although there may well have been a church here since at least the time of King Alfred.

A recorded parish since the Norman Conquest, it is likely a church has stood on this site in some for since the mission of St Augustine to the Anglo Saxons.
