In 1287 a catastrophic storm smashed its way across the Romney Marshes, causing incalculable damage and smothering New Romney in tons of sand, gravel and silt.

St Mary's church is the centrepiece of a substantial village green, unusual in the region and is home to two 5th to 6th century inscribed stones.

Set high above the Stour Valley in North Essex, surrounded by rolling fields and an ancient Mount, St John's dates from the 12th century and is a place of simplicity and beauty.

The church stands at the centre of the beautiful village of St Tudy and was founded at this site in the 6th century. It dates mainly from the 15th century.

Built in 1871, St Barthlomew Butterton, is a beautiful little church in the heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands.

St Wulfram's slender and graceful spire, distinctively flanked by its four spirelets, would very likely have been the tallest in England when it was built in 1280-1300, and it is still one of the most elegant.

The remains of the Abbey of St Mary lie in the centre of St Dogmaels immediately south of the parish church, which itself lies to the south of the High Street.

The Church of the Holy Cross has an intimate and ageless atmosphere.

In rolling countryside, two miles away from St Winnow, lies St Nectan’s chapel, being a chapel of ease which has been part of the parish since the 13th century.

St Aidan’s is almost unique in that it is a Tin Tabernacle which is still being used for worship today.
