The church has close associations with Bardney Abbey, a Benedictine monastery founded in 697 by King Ethelred of Mercia.

A Methodist Society was formed in Bardney as early as 1788, 44 years after John Wesley's first conference.

Visit the church and learn about Thomas Retford, who courageously gave his life for opposing the king’s destruction of the monasteries.

The small church of St Michael dates to at least the 12th century, with evidence of alteration in the 13th, 14th, and 15th centuries, plus a comprehensive restoration in 1860 under the direction of James Fowler, a church architect from Louth.

Stainfield St Andrews celebrates the rich heritage of this beautiful Queen Anne church, built on the site of an early12th century Benedictine nunnery, now medieval parkland in the Lincolnshire Limewoods.

This is a priory church, presented soon after 1100 to the Benedictine Abbey of Lonlay, near Falaise in Normandy, but later reclaimed by Henry V. It was later given to Eton College by Henry VI.

Memorial, stained glass window and stone cross, in memory of five sons from this hamlet, who all died in The Great War.

The Polish Air Force and Royal Air Force served nearby at the former RAF Faldingworth and this is commemorated throughout the church including in a stained glass window and the porch gates.

By 1816 a brick shed on the site had been converted for use as a mortuary chapel and when the graveyard was enlarged in 1871 it was replaced by the small brick building which we see today.

This small village church was built as a temporary structure in 1898 by the villagers and the local carpenter Richard Turner, standing on a concrete base with stones from Bardney Abbey in its foundations.
