The church of St Mary the Virgin lies at the centre of an ancient parish within an Anglo-Saxon royal estate and on the site of a late Anglo-Saxon minster from 950 or earlier.

There has been a church on this site since Saxon times, but the present building dates from 1450.

This parish church is the oldest Norman church in London still in weekly use. It stands in solemn grandeur in a 9 acre churchyard, now managed as a nature reserve.

The history of St Patrick’s is, shall we say, colourful.

One of the few surviving medieval City churches in London, the foundation date of the church is unknown, but it was first recorded in 1250 as the church of St Adelburga the Virgin.

The Dutch Church is a reformed church on the site of the 13th century Augustinian friary, the original building granted to Protestant refugees for their church services in 1550 was destroyed during the London Blitz.

Consecrated in 1686 by Bishop Henry Compton (after whom Old Compton St is named) the original church was designed by William Talman, who worked under Sir Christopher Wren. In December 2016 our redesigned entrance, featuring our name in neon lights, was dedicated by the Bishop of London to ensure the church remains a visible presence in the community it serves.

St George's is the parish church of Mayfair.

First mentioned in 1185 and rebuilt in 1441, the current church by Wren was completed in 1692; the tower by Robert Hooke was finished in 1700.

St Bride's is warm and welcoming, and one of the most famous and most fascinating historic churches in central London, it is known worldwide as the Journalists church, offering a spiritual home to all who work in the media.

The present church contains a fragment of a 13th century nuns choir that was constructed alongside a pre-existing parish church, which explains its unusual shape.
