Few Northampton residents know that the town has a Cathedral!

This tiny chapel may well have been built as a chantry chapel in memory of Robert de Tattershall who died in 1212 and whose effigy it is thought to be, lies beside the altar.

All Saints stands in the grounds of Brocklesby Park, home to the Earls of Yarborough, whose family name is Pelham.

Abergavenny parish church was founded in the late 11th century as the church of a Benedictine priory. It is the only part to survive, apart from the later tithe barn.

The inside arcades are 13th century and both are of four bays with low double chamfered arches.

Although The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) built a Meeting House in Darlington in 1678 (when they bought the plot for ’35), the present structure was not completed until about 1846.

According to Pevsner, ‘the stateliest church of its time in the county’. Reordered in 1722 on an ancient site, it has many interesting features relating to its history from then until today.

Having started as a mission church in 1890, the current permanent church, designed by William Leah, was built in 1938.
