The church sits close to Kirtling Towers, a large Tudor gatehouse and the most substantial remaining part of a castle and great house that was the seat of the North family.

The exterior of St Mary's is a pleasing, rather homely mixture of roofs and walls clustered around a central tower and spire.

Visit our historic (1846) church incorporating a 13th century font and Rutson family connections, set in a loved churchyard with its own war memorial and Commonwealth War Grave.

Very fine misericords and carvings, a wealth of medieval glass, a memorial to 266 miners and a peal of bells which is one of the Seven Wonders of Wales.

The stunning interior of Caen stone evokes the great Gothic cathedrals of Amiens and Reims; the church is also home to a superb collection of stained glass windows by Kempe and others.
