In 1712 the church was built as a chapel of ease in a farmer’s barn.

Building on the church began during the 12th century and it has been the centre of religious life of the village for over 800 years.

This remote church at the most southern point of the county is beguilingly set at the end of a long tree lined lane which is well indicated by a brown sign off the main road.
