In a conservation area in the tiny village of Frisby on the Wreake (255 houses), near the market town of Melton Mowbray, the church is as delightful as it sounds.

Fulletby is set high in the Wolds, and was mentioned in the Domesday book.

All Saints was designed in the Early English style by John Dobson and was consecrated in October 1849.

The chapel is a very attractive but simple building built in 1728.

This remote church at the most southern point of the county is beguilingly set at the end of a long tree lined lane which is well indicated by a brown sign off the main road.

Though erected in the 13th century, the present structure is believed to occupy a Saxon site, as it is recorded that Edwine, a Northumbrian chief who became a monk, died in 801 and was buried in the monastery of Gainford in the church.

A very different Georgian style church with medieval tower and a magnificent interior, the altar piece is a copy of the Da Vinci painting of the Last Supper.

A touchingly simple building dating from 1704, with a few later additions, it remains simple but with a powerful feeling of history, of prayer and of silence.
