St. Andrews dates from the 13th century, and has for centuries attended to the spiritual needs of the people of Aylestone. According to legend, when Dorothy Vernon, daughter of George Vernon, King of the Peak, eloped from Haddon Hall near Bakewell with John Manners, they were married here.

A warm welcome awaits you at this wonderful medieval church. Our aim is to involve the whole people of God and so the congregation plays a full part in the presentation of worship. Newcomers are made welcome, but given space to appreciate the service in their own way.
