St Peter and St Paul

This Grade I Listed Building is an important local church with a 12-century nave, 13-century transepts and 15-century porch. Pevsner (Surrey) describes it as 'Picturesque, heavy-lidded, aisles cruciform building of Weald sandstone with a lot of character. Much of this is due to the central tower, which fell in 1838 and was rebuilt by Robert Ebbels in the Norman style - not a copy of what was there before...' The grant will help repair the chancel roof.
