St. Paul's Deptford has a long and fascinating history covering almost 300 years. Once a centre for the country's ship building industry, Deptford became a home for many people and today still serves a wide community. The church was built as part of Queen Anne's Church Act, designed by Thomas Archer in 1713 and consecrated in June 1730. St. Paul's is the only Grade I listed building in the Borough of Lewisham.
