The chancel is an excellent example of 13th century architecture on a small scale. The east wall has three beautiful lancet windows with shafts of Purbeck marble. the 12th century square font is also Purbeck marble with original central column. The lowest of the three altar steps is paved with 14th century encaustic tiles of many colours.

This beautiful church, in this tranquil setting is an ideal venue to use for small groups to meet and use as a retreat. The church organ is from Windsor Castle, there is a remarkable 15th century carved oak screen shutting off the east bay of the south isle, and the Sussex 'cap' belfry houses two bells that are believed to be 14th century. Burials started in 1447 as before that St Mary's was a chapel of ease attached to the collegiate of Bosham.

Building the single storey extension provided modern facilities including a toilet, kitchen and community meeting room. The venue, which has a separate secure entrance, is available for hire by groups. Following the generous gift of land by a local residents in memory of her husband there is parking adjacent to the church.
