The church dates from around 1450 and is built of red sandstone, with a tall, typically Somerset tower and contains a fabulous rood turret housing the spiral stair leading to the top of the rood screen.

The setting is enchanting. The church has some lovely stained glass, an ancient font, four effigies, two seventeenth century wall memorials and original pew ends. There is a long connection to two old families, Stawell and Esdaile. Ianthe Esdaile the poet Shelley's daughter is buried at the top of the churchyard.

BCP services are every Sunday at 11.15am alternating between Holy Communion (1st and 3rd Sundays) and Mattins (2nd and 4th). The benefice comes together at one of the five churches on any fifth Sunday. There is a hard grass car park (drive down Manor drive and bear left) then take path in front of cottages to the church.
