Dursley Tabernacle has one of George Whitfield’s bibles and his chair in our care. The chair is on display in the church sanctuary and the bible may be viewed on request. The church sanctuary is graced by a Sweetlands organ which was installed in 1891 and the space retains some of its traditional pews at the rear of the sanctuary and in the horseshoe balcony.

Many of the pews on the ground floor have been replaced with comfortable chairs and the sanctuary is now a tastefully refurbished modern and adaptable worship space which also hosts church social events and a thriving Family Cafe. Worship is a careful blend of traditional and modern which suits all tastes; a lively worship band plays in addition to the organ on most Sundays.

The remains of the original Tab site, still in our custody today, contains the grave of William King (1730-1803), who was claimed by the 19th century dissenters to be the 'inventor' of Sunday Schools in opposition to the Anglicans candidate, Robert Raikes. A memorial to King is present in the church sanctuary. We at The Tab are proud of this tradition to serve and support young people and their education.

The Old Parsonage, integral to the site, has been converted in to the town’s Youth Centre and is managed in partnership with the local Town Council offering secular and faith based youth work provision in the town. Our ancillary premises host a range of community and outreach activities; The Tab has a reputation locally for being a church with a heart to serve the community. Our Garden of Rest is a pretty place to sit and enjoys views over the fields to Cam Peak and the Cotswold escarpment beyond.
