A Norman stone church was later built here, which was enlarged in 1850. It is still aisleless, with a castle like tower.
The two decker pulpit is the only one of its kind in the Diocese of Llandaff, and possibly in the Church in Wales.
The magnificent D shaped Norman font is also thought to be unique.
