St Margaret of Antioch

Eakring, Nottinghamshire
St. Andrews is a warm and welcoming church, not far from local attractions such as Center Parcs, Rufford Abbey, Clumber Park and Sherwood Pines. One of the church's former rectors was the Reverend William Mompesson, who came to this church after leaving Eyam in Derbyshire, the location of the dreadful plague. The church has a mosaic and a stained glass window in his memory. Mompesson is buried in the chancel.
Parts of the church date back to the 13th century, but the building has been much altered over the years, including restoration by The Reverend Canon Cator in the 1880's. The church has a beautiful churchyard, full of flowers in the spring time.
Information boards are available in church for visitors, including details of oil production at Dukes Wood during the Second World War.

Boughton, Nottinghamshire
The present church is Victorian, built in the 1860s and dedicated in 1868, but it replaced a Norman church about which, unfortunately, very little is known.
Caunton, Nottinghamshire
The village, but not the church, is mentioned in Domesday Book.
