This historic church which was rebuilt in 1728 and includes Grade II listed gravestones (1686 - 1860) and a Grade II listed War Memorial. A 1933 lychgate was constructed from salvaged timbers from HMS Powerful.

Interior furnishings are from 1913 and 1917 donated by the Ritson family who lived at nearby Calf Hall, Muggleswick. A Mosstrooper Roland Harrison’s grave cover dated 1712 reflects the turbulent history of the Border Reivers. There is a wooden plaque inside the church commemorating brothers George Ward and Philip MacLean Gunn, who were awarded a VC and MC’s respectively who were grandsons of Utrick Alexander Ritson of Calf Hall.

There is also a plaque written in Latin commemorating John Carr born in 1712 at Muggleswick and educated in the village school, before going to St Paul’s in London. Later he was Master of Hertford Grammar School and Mayor of Hertford.
