Meet our supporters

Meet some of our supporters who have left us a gift in their Will

A gift in a Will, no matter how large or small, helps us to safeguard the churches in the UK that are most at risk.

We asked some of our supporters why they have decided to become a caretaker of our church heritage by leaving a gift in their Will to the National Churches Trust.

"Since becoming interested in churches – their settings, architecture, history and so much more – I have also learnt an enormous amount about the history of this country... I realise that old churches, still the heart of communities in so many cases, need more help than local people alone can contribute."

"It's so very easy to take things for granted: in the UK, we are used to seeing churches in cities, towns, villages and in remote areas... If you take a moment and wonder how different this country would be if these places did not exist, then you realise how important it is to preserve them."

"The breath-taking beauty of many speaks not of strength and power, but of vulnerability, invitation, of the success of noble aspirations in architectural form. These venerable community time-capsules harbour the story of a community going back centuries in many cases."
