Etton, Cambridgeshire
Situated in a rural conservation area.
There is a rare Sheela na Gig laying on its side in the corbel table at the top of the tower. The windows are 13th century lancets with simple coloured glass surrounding the leaded lights. Inside the church a medieval wall paining (an infant wrapped in foliage) is partially visible in the south aisle. The bells were cast in Stamford by the Norris family, in 1618 and 1630. The east boundary wall is topped with Medieval coffin lids.
Etton's most famous resident was Daniel Defoe whose uncle is buried in the churchyard.
