St Oswald was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1085 and also in a tithe document in Shrewsbury the same year.

Inside you can see a fine stone monument to Hugh Yale who died around 1616 and was a kinsman of the founder of Yale University in the USA. By his side is his wife, Dorothy.
