The church is on the village's main street. It has enormous aisle windows and a pretty clerestory, and at the east end of the nave are two turrets flanking a small housing for a sanctus bell.

The church is entered through an elegant red brick south porch with a room above. The interior is dominated by woodwork from the 15th to the 19th centuries.

Over the nave is a 15th century hammerbeam roof, with angels. It looks down on rows of benches from medieval times and from the early 19th century. At the west end of the church are the panels from the rood screen, painted with the Four Evangelists.

In the north aisle windows is an important collection of stained glass, dating from the 14th and 15th centuries.

Forty or so figures are depicted. The colours are bright reds, blues and yellows, and some of the figures have scrollwork names worked around them to identify them.

Most are unusual or little known bishops and saints, and this makes the glass all the more special.
