St Mary's is a grade II listed building with plenty of interesting features including an internal baptistry pool, beautiful stained glass windows, balcony historically used by fisherman and very important links to the last invasion of Britain in 1797.

St Mary's is a Victorian church packed with historical features, it's location makes it easy for community use. There is a memorial to the town heroine Jemima Nicholas and the area in the front of the church is used for dramas, musicals and school and church productions.
