Edith refused advancement but dedicated her life to prayer as a nun in Wilton Abbey and was revered for her sanctity. She died in 984.

St Edith's consists of a nave with a bell turret and chancel. The Domesday Book lists North Reston and neighbouring Little Carlton as one entry and notes a church in existence.  A charming church set in charming countryside and perfect for quiet reflection.
