Larger premises were soon needed and in 1905 a small church opened on the current site. Revd. PM Kirkland became the first Minister for the new church in Meols. Ordained in 1887, he was also Minister for West Kirby and had been instrumental in the founding of the congregation in Meols.

In 1961 a new building was erected to house the church and the old building was reassigned for use as the church hall. Over the years there have been numerous extensions and updates to both buildings. Care has been taken to ensure these works have been carried out sympathetically and been in keeping with each building’s original appearance. The pipe organ, which was installed in 1913, was replaced in 1994 by a new one and it was passed to a church in Mailly le Chateau in France.

Following on from the creation of The United Reformed Church in 1972 by the union of Congregational and Presbyterian Churches, the Meols church joined with the former Hoylake Congregational Church to become St Andrew's United Reformed Church Hoylake with Meols.
