Built in 1818 as a classic chapel and presbytery under one roof, this deeply historical site sits in an idyllic setting closely linked to the iconic Southworth family. Celebrating Saint John Southworth - the famous 17th century priest born nearby at Samlesbury Hall who was martyred at Tyburn - the church serves as a powerful monument to local penal-era Catholic survival, featuring an early internal gallery and traditional stilted lunette windows.
