How to get here

There is very limited parking outside the chapel and in Grassington village. Most visitors to the village use the Yorkshire Dales National Car Park and walk up the hill through the village (about 10 minutes). There is a regular bus service from Skipton every day until early evening (bus 72 - Keighley buses) to the car park. 

Built in 1810 and renovated in 1825 Grassington Methodist Church sits at the top of the village on Chapel Street. It is an old-style preaching house with a gallery. It has been beautifully maintained through the years. It is the last remaining Methodist society out of 17 at the start of the 20th century in the Upper Wharfedale area. John Wesley preached twice in Grassington. The chapel was built during the lead mining era, which brought boom and bust fortune to the village. Grassington has been a tourist destination since Victorian times. Now the village is popular again with the filming of 'All Creatures Great and Small'. Maybe you spotted the chapel's facade in one of the episodes? 

When you arrive at the church look for the paintings in the window recesses, which say 'Walk with God', as we celebrate our place on the popular Dales Way and Lady Anne's Way walking routes. 

Inside the building you enter the chapel through the door either side of the vestibule.
