St John the Evangelist has been welcoming the parish and people of the Park district since 1834.

During the early 19th century the population of Doncaster increased markedly and in 1827 an Act of Parliament was passed enabling the erection of Christ Church as a new parish church.

With its stark white walls and impressive high dome the outside of this building tempts visitors to explore further.

St Mary's dates from the 12th century and is enclosed by an ancient walled churchyard with many ancient gravestones and two very old yew trees.
