Stobo Kirk is one of the oldest standing churches in Scotland and offers a fascinating history combined with a truly beautiful interior.

A beautiful ancient church set in a large rural churchyard, an ideal place for quiet meditation.

Designed mainly by architect Dr Jack Coia and opened in 1938, St Peter in Chains has distinctly Scandinavian influences, with the tower said to be reminscent of Stockholm Town Hall. It has a simple light interior.

This whitewashed church was built in 1643 in the shape of a Greek cross, having four arms of equal length.

Fine example of a rural parish Kirk, with outstanding views across open countryside.

Originally built between 1856 and 1859 by the Monteith family of Carstairs, in 1907 it was all but destroyed by fire, and was rebuilt between 1908 and 1910.

St Nicholas is a historic church which proudly stands at the very centre of the ancient Market Burgh of Lanark.

More to this church than meets the eye (Pevsner).

The church was founded in the 12th century and retains some of the Norman stonework. The south chapel of Our Lady contains the 15th century tomb of Sir Ralph Grey and his wife Elizabeth.
