You are very welcome to St Andrews Cathedral, the home of Christian hospitality and culture in the heart of the granite city.

On entering the Cathedral all the awkwardness of the red brick exterior disappears and you find yourself in an inspiring church quite unlike any other you will have ever seen.

The 20th century Cathedral, a blend of Gothic and Romanesque, stands in a prominent position on the north east side of Oban Bay and its imposing tower looms over the Corran Esplanade.

The granite church overlooks the River Dee and the ruins of the 14th century church.

The Cathedral is a fine example of a fortified kirk, with twin towers built in the fashion of 14th century tower houses and now with spires added in the 15th century.
