A traditional village church made from stone from Hadrians Wall.

Beautiful Grade I listed church circa 1125 with Norman features.

Sarah Losh (1785-1853), a local landowner, designed St Mary's in 1840, partly in memory of her sister and parents.

The tower at over 90 feet is one of the highest vantage points in Ballymena and is one of the few remaining seven towers of Ballymena.

The chapel dates to January 1839, pre famine times and is of historic significance locally and in County Fermanagh.

The present Gothic style church was built by Fr John Lynch and finished in 1860, the bell tower with its 37 hundred weight bell was added in 1908.

The church is a peaceful haven beside the Pennine Way with a wildlife conservation project in the churchyard.

St Mary Magdalene is a Norman church that was partly rebuilt in 1730 following a disastrous fire.

Ballynascreen, ‘the town of the shrine’, lies in the picturesque valley of the Moyola, between the mountains of Dungiven and Banagher on the north and Slieve Gallion on the south.

Our church is 800 years old and has some interesting woodwork which is 350 years old.
