Step into St Mary’s, an oasis of calm amidst Belfast's bustling streets.

Welcome to Lisburn Cathedral, where we are building a 21st century community in a beautiful and historic building that celebrates the God who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

The first church was built on this site in 1815 and was the second Catholic church built since the Reformation in the city of Belfast.

The church was built, destroyed and rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries and was seat to renowned bishops Thomas Percy and Jeremy Taylor in their time.

The tradition of music lives on in this cathedral, where sound has resonated through its halls for generations. 

St James has a number of rare architectural features by master craftsmen including a carved rood screen and reredos, together with stained glass windows.
