St George the Martyr is a vibrant and inclusive church having been at the heart of its community for over nine hundred years.

Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin was engaged as architect and it was considered the most important Catholic Church in England when it was built from 1839, seating about 3,000 people. 

Some of the earliest evidence of habitation here comes from fragments of Roman settlements and discoveries from archaeological digs have revealed the remains of a large Roman Villa decorated with well preserved mosaic on the playing grounds of St Laurence School.

St Paul’s church, Ashford Hill is an elegant Victorian gothic church with a spire whose foundations were laid in October 1844.

The church is Norman with Perpendicular additions.

The beautiful chapel in the heart of Wren's original buildings features an impressive mural of The Resurrection by Sebastiano Ricci, is home to a professional choir.

This impressive church opened in 1901, replacing an earlier iron church.

An Italianate inter war church with a fine interior and several original furnishings, the northeast tower and statue of Christ are landmarks designed to be seen from the Limehouse Basin and the Thames.

The site and dedication are Norman.

The Memorial Baptist Church building was opened in 1922 to house the church and its welfare work.
