Presbyterians have worshipped together in Waringstown since 1846, our current church building was built and opened in 1853.

Nestled at the bottom of a hill on the outskirts of the village, St Mary’s church, built of local heathstone is steeped in history.

Originally built in 1837 as a private family chapel this small Anglican church is simple in style and overlooks the village green.

This church doesn’t give away its secrets easily, but with a bit of detective work there is so much to discover!

The church is notable for its collection of seven rare WWI wooden battlefield crosses, gifted to the families when replaced by permanent stone memorials.

The first church close to the river would have been on the strip of gravel which the present day church stands, there was no sea wall or river bank as we know it today.

Tucked away in one of the most remote villages in Suffolk, Shelley church is hard to find but worth finding!
